ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The British School of Guangzhou is a warm and welcoming community, which is open to children aged from 2 to 18.  

We’re proud to be an all-inclusive school. This means we’re open to any student who will benefit from our outstanding teaching and learning. We do, however, assess children who are joining us in Year 4 or above. We do this to make sure our school is right for them. 

Your journey begins with our friendly admissions team. After getting in touch with us via our online enquiry form, they’ll contact you to organise a tour of our school, either in person or online.

There are no dates and deadlines to work to – we’ll fit around your needs. We also understand that plans and schedules can change during the application process. Don’t worry, we’ll work hard to accommodate your needs. 

Restrictions in China mean we can only accept students with foreign passports. This includes Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan. When you apply, we need various documents from both you and your child, including visas. Our admissions team will give you more details.

Our fantastic English as An Additional Language (EAL) teachers support students with limited, little, or no English. They can organise one-to-one or small group sessions, as well as offering help in lessons. We’ve found immersing your child in an English-speaking community quickly helps them to become fluent speakers. 

The British School of Guangzhou also has an expert team of Special Educational Needs (SEN) coordinators, who work closely with our teachers to support students who need extra help.
