In July, three of our Year 12 students, Solenn, Asim and Omar, will represent our school at the UNICEF – Nord Anglia Summit in New York.
For seven days they will work with students from schools from the Nord Anglia family of schools across the globe to raise awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and to promote the work of the United Nations. They will meet high level political staff from the United Nations and be involved in debates, workshops and forums relating to the work of the United Nations and the World Health Organisation. And of course, they will get to see a little of the Big Apple!
Solenn, Asim and Omar have spent a few hours this week working with 14 of our Year 4 students on ‘The World’s Largest Lesson’, a series of lessons designed to help younger students to understand the Global Goals and the work of the United Nations. Perhaps some of these youngsters will be inspired to aim to follow in Solenns’, Asim’s and Omar’s footsteps in the future! More importantly, we hope they will all be inspired to find ways that they can help to achieve our Global Goals.
We wish Solenn, Asim and Omar well on their travels and we hope that they will bring back a whole host of ideas to keep our school at the forefront of helping to make our world a safer, fairer, cleaner place.
