Staff at the Simon Lawrence Library of St Andrews International School Bangkok are pleased to announce the Sustainable Development Goals Book Club.
The Simon Lawrence Library would like to introduce the SDG Book Club to the whole STA community. The SDG Book Club aims to use books as a tool to encourage children to interact with the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a curated reading list of books from around the world related to each of the 17 SDGs in all six official UN languages — Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish. In addition, we encourage parents, educators, and everyone who is interested to read the selected books and help children understand the importance of the SDGs. Specifically, this month theme - the Sustainable Development Goal 1, No Poverty aims to help people who are suffering and lack the means to prosper. Please come take a look at all 4 books on the reading list in the Library. If you need more details on the SDG Book Club, you can visit the website which includes a special message from UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed as well as the reading list. Additionally, SDG Book Club bookmarks are available for you on the librarians’ counter. So, please feel free to pick one up. We hope you enjoy reading these books and that that inspire you to take action and help us to make this world a better place for everyone.
As the end of the school year is fast approaching, it is time to call for all books to be returned to the Library and the deadline for returning all books is Friday 14 June, 2019. Therefore, please take a good look around at home for any overdue library books and do not forget to return your books to the Library by the deadline. If you feel you need more time to read them, you will be able to renew and keep them during the summer break with assistance from the Library staff as from 17 June, 2019. We will be sending out overdue notices over the next two weeks so please help us clear all library accounts before the end of the school year. Should you have any questions or concerns about your books, please feel free to contact us directly.
At St Andrews Bangkok, we believe that every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and included both inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we are incredibly proud to introduce the Friendship Benches project, an initiative designed to foster connection, kindness, and community spirit across the school.
From 25th May to 27th May, St Andrews International School Bangkok proudly hosted the 2025 Nord Anglia SEA STEAM Festival. Students from across Southeast Asia came together for three inspiring days of creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving. This year’s big question: “How can we reduce or repurpose school waste to create a lasting impact in our communities and environment?”
From cultural celebrations and hands-on STEAM challenges to expert talks and a final showcase of student-led projects, the festival was a true celebration of innovation and sustainability.
NAE Global Campus received a staggering 3,300 entries from 66 Nord Anglia schools all around the world, and one student from STA shone bright, winning Best in Show in the Art Music category: a big congratulations to Freya in Year 8 for her truly outstanding achievement and stellar performance!
