The staff of the Simon Lawrence Library are pleased to be able to announce that a wide range of Newbery Award-winning titles are available for you to borrow. The opening hours of the Library have been extended to benefit the whole St Andrews community.
The Simon Lawrence Library at St Andrews International School Bangkok would like to recommend the most recent award-winning books of the Newbery Award which are available in the Library. We have increased the number of books compared to last year, and we have almost all the books from 2000 to 2018 on the list. Please feel free to come pick up the any of the world-renowned books to enjoy. For your information, the Newbery Medal was named after the eighteenth-century English bookseller John Newbery by the American Library Association (ALA) and became the first children's book award in the world. Today, the Medal is administered by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of ALA. The Newbery Medal is awarded annually by the ALA for the most distinguished American children's book published the previous year. Its terms, as well as its long history, continue to make it the best known and most discussed children's book award in the US.
The Simon Lawrence Library is pleased to announce that the Library opening hours have been extended from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day from Monday to Friday. Those who would like to stay longer after school, the Library become a relaxing, cool shelter. We hope these new opening hours will benefit the whole STA community. Should you have any questions or concerns about this matter, please feel free to contact us.
At St Andrews Bangkok, we believe that every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and included both inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we are incredibly proud to introduce the Friendship Benches project, an initiative designed to foster connection, kindness, and community spirit across the school.
From 25th May to 27th May, St Andrews International School Bangkok proudly hosted the 2025 Nord Anglia SEA STEAM Festival. Students from across Southeast Asia came together for three inspiring days of creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving. This year’s big question: “How can we reduce or repurpose school waste to create a lasting impact in our communities and environment?”
From cultural celebrations and hands-on STEAM challenges to expert talks and a final showcase of student-led projects, the festival was a true celebration of innovation and sustainability.
NAE Global Campus received a staggering 3,300 entries from 66 Nord Anglia schools all around the world, and one student from STA shone bright, winning Best in Show in the Art Music category: a big congratulations to Freya in Year 8 for her truly outstanding achievement and stellar performance!
