An STA student's determination in Jiu Jitsu pays off in recent open competition. On 22 April 2017 St Andrews International School Bangkok student Andy competed in the feather (up to 70 kg) white belt category at the Copa de Bangkok Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament at Chantanayingyong Indoor Stadium.
Having previously won a silver medal in the teen group in 2015, Andy was not expecting such a strong result in the open age division with his team looking for him to gain valuable experience against stronger competition. We are proud to report that Andy came home with the gold medal will be looking to earn a blue belt soon … a very rare feat for a competitor his age. When he’s not training, Andy has been attacking his upcoming IGCSE exams with the same intensity. Congratulations from the entire St Andrews community!
NAE Global Campus received a staggering 3,300 entries from 66 Nord Anglia schools all around the world, and one student from STA shone bright, winning Best in Show in the Art Music category: a big congratulations to Freya in Year 8 for her truly outstanding achievement and stellar performance!
High School Design and Technology students step outside the classroom to explore design and architecture in Bangkok. Year 8 students visited a uniquely designed café precinct, where they learned from the architect of the precinct himself how thoughtful use of materials, geometry, and landscaping can transform spaces. Meanwhile, Year 12 IB students explored the fusion of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship and the use of natural materials at the impressive studio of renowned Thailand-based architect Patrick Keane.
Sports Day in Primary School is a joyful and exciting event that brings the school community together to celebrate movement, teamwork, and fun. With a wide range of activities—from egg and spoon races to shot put throws—students in Primary compete in House teams, cheered on by teachers, families, and friends. The day encourages physical activity, builds good sportsmanship, and creates lasting memories, making it one of the most special days of the school year.
