We’re delighted to share that Collège Champittet students won in two categories at Nord Anglia Education’s Global Campus Virtual Young Musician of the Year 2025 Competition!
• Congratulations to student Simo on a stunning performance of Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041! Simo won the Art Music: Instrumental Solo category in the 7-11 age group.
• And congratulations to our school’s own Ensemble Amati Junior! With their spirited performance of Medley, our young musicians won the Art Music: Instrumental Ensemble category, also in the 7-11 age group.
We’re incredibly proud of our young musicians’ achievements, especially considering the tough competition. A grand total of 3,293 students from 66 schools across the world participated in this year’s Virtual Young Musician competition. Their performances were evaluated by a panel of experts from The Juilliard School of Performing Arts and Nord Anglia Education.
This global competition gives young musicians a wonderful stage for demonstrating their skills, commitment and passion for performance. In line with Nord Anglia Education’s commitment to nurture innovation and personal growth, the competition encourages student performers to reflect their own artistic vision. Two main categories are featured – Art Music, which includes classical and ethnic compositions, and Popular Music, covering genres like Rock, Pop, Country and Jazz – while young composers are also invited to submit their own original work.
Entering the competition provided young musicians with a clear goal to work toward and an opportunity to receive personalised feedback from celebrated performers and educators. No matter the outcome, the decision to participate represented a great step in each student’s musical journey. We are therefore very proud of all our Champittet participants! May our young performers continue to integrate their passion for music with cultural understanding, dedication to their studies, critical thinking and global awareness.
Collaboration often leads to innovation – and for three days in May, a group of our Champittet students had the opportunity to experience just that with 200 students from across Europe at the NAE STEAM festival in Prague!
