Music for the greater good: Musicians of all ages perform in charity concert for the Collège Champittet Foundation

Charity Concert Foundation College Champittet - Charity Concert Foundation College Champittet

Our recent charity concert blended two aspects that define our Champittet family: our passion for music and our sense of social purpose. We were delighted to welcome 63 performers from our community of all ages and skill levels, including our music teachers, student instrumentalists and vocalists, children’s choir, women’s choir – and our own school rock band!

Held on 4 April in our school chapel, our charity concert brought together students, families and staff for an evening of wonderful music in great company. We enjoyed a diverse programme that took us from the Baroque period to contemporary rock and pop, and an equally diverse range of instruments, such as flute, cello, organ, violin, piano, drums, guitar, marimba and voice. Our talented community performed works by Bach and Debussy, traditional folk songs, and danceable pop hits like “Despacito”.

For our young student performers, this was a thrilling opportunity to step on stage and bask in the limelight, while our audience was delighted by the evening’s display of musical skill and talent. As one spectator shared, “I had never attended a charity concert before, and I was truly impressed by the quality of the programme and the performances. I will definitely come back next year!”

Heightening the musical experience was the knowledge that our concert was dedicated to an important cause: supporting the humanitarian projects of the Collège Champittet Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised over CHF 3,000 – funding which will go toward providing study grants for children in Madagascar.

We wish to thank all our concert goers for their enthusiasm and support, and all our students, staff and teachers who contributed their musical talent to a magical evening!
