For the past two years, we’ve been celebrating a small but vital change on our Pully campus: the flowering of our magnolia tree.
At Champittet, we are fortunate to be surrounded by a beautiful landscape with many trees, including a lovely magnolia tree between the Café 1903 and the Villa des Sciences.
Each year in March, this tree blooms with beautiful pink flowers – a delightful gift from nature which we intend to continue celebrating in the years to come. This year, our preschool and primary students celebrated the arrival of our magnolia blossoms by enjoying warm beverages and snacks under the tree. Parents and staff members also joined us for a cosy gathering and joyful shared moment outdoors.
Taking the time to observe this annual occurrence gave our young learners an opportunity to reflect on and appreciate our natural environment.
The next time you’re on our campus, we invite you to pause and enjoy our magnolias. A tree may bloom year after year, but that’s no reason why we shouldn’t stop to smell the flowers!
Collaboration often leads to innovation – and for three days in May, a group of our Champittet students had the opportunity to experience just that with 200 students from across Europe at the NAE STEAM festival in Prague!
