Oral examinations are very important for our final year students: the big oral for the French Baccalauréat section and no less than 7 orals for the Swiss Maturité section.
It is essential to prepare them as well as possible for these deadlines. In fact, an oral exam is not simply the restitution of an academic knowledge: it is learning to use one's voice, one's gestures, to know how to develop an argument and to answer questions. It is also learning how to stay calm even when it goes wrong or when one has the impression that the examiner is not extremely benevolent.
In the light of this, we contacted the services of the Manufacture, Haute école des arts de la scène de Lausanne, one of whose speakers came to organize two 6-hour workshops for our students, on the theme of “speaking in public: a workshop in public speaking”.
Collaboration often leads to innovation – and for three days in May, a group of our Champittet students had the opportunity to experience just that with 200 students from across Europe at the NAE STEAM festival in Prague!
