BVIS follows the National Curriculum for England, widely recognised for fostering critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability. From Early Years to Primary, students learn in both English and Vietnamese, building a strong language foundation and a broad academic perspective. In Secondary, the curriculum is taught predominantly in English – equivalent to monolingual international schools – preparing students for IGCSE, A-Level, and higher education in international environments.

More importantly, BVIS students don’t just study Vietnamese as a subject – they delve deeply into the language, culture, and history of Vietnam under the guidance of experienced local teachers. Internationally Qualified Teaching Staff

100% of BVIS’s international teachers hold professional teaching qualifications (PGCE, QTS) and have at least three years of experience in international education. The school implements a rigorous recruitment process, including continuous 10-year background checks – an exceptional standard in Vietnam.

Many of our teachers are also sponsored to pursue a Master’s in International Education at King’s College London, one of the world’s top universities. This exclusive programme is offered to teachers across the Nord Anglia Education group, of which BVIS is a member.

As part of Nord Anglia Education – a global organisation with over 88 schools across 30 countries – BVIS students, teachers and parents benefit from an international learning ecosystem. Academic Achievements

Thanks to a rigorous international curriculum and highly qualified teachers, BVIS students consistently excel in global examinations. In the 2023–2024 academic year:

• 52% of A-Level students achieved A–A* grades – nearly double the UK national average of 27.9%.
• 44% of IGCSE students achieved A–A* (or grade 7 and above) – compared to the UK average of 22.6%.

These outstanding results not only reflect BVIS’s academic quality but also give students a competitive edge when applying to prestigious universities such as Oxford, LSE, UCL, Imperial College London, King’s College London, Columbia, Cornell, Pennsylvania, Sydney, Melbourne, Toronto, and Seoul National University. Each year, many BVIS graduates also earn substantial scholarships from top international institutions.

International Accreditation

BVIS is among a select number of schools in Vietnam accredited by two highly respected international education organisations: WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and CIS (Council of International Schools).

In its most recent reaccreditation report, CIS stated:
