Educators from BVIS Hanoi joined over 200 international teachers and leaders from Nord Anglia Education schools at the SEAMEI Teaching & Learning Conference 2025, held in Abu Dhabi. The event brought together outstanding minds in education to explore leadership, resilience, innovation, and inclusion – key elements shaping the future of teaching and learning.
The three-day conference provided an invaluable platform for teachers from across the region to collaborate, share best practices, and gain fresh insights to bring back to their classrooms.
For BVIS Hanoi, the conference was more than just an event – it was a chance to reconnect with purpose and reimagine teaching practice in a global context. The experience offered teachers new tools, perspectives, and energy to enhance student learning.
“One of my biggest takeaways from the conference was how metacognition can truly empower students to take ownership of their learning. I’m excited to bring back strategies that help my students reflect more deeply, set clearer goals, and become more independent in their learning process.”
As part of Nord Anglia Education, BVIS Hanoi benefits from a global commitment to professional development. The 2025 SEAMEI Conference focused on emerging topics such as AI in education, inclusive leadership, and neurodiversity in schools.
A key highlight was Nord Anglia’s latest research into metacognition – helping students become more aware of how they learn, to improve decision-making, critical thinking and resilience.
“Through leadership discussions at the conference, our academic teams explored how to apply Nord Anglia’s latest research on metacognition. By embedding metacognitive strategies in the classroom, we help students develop the skills to become independent, self-directed learners. In offering a forward-thinking education, we are supporting skills development with our Nord Anglia educational framework centred around the continuous growth of the 6 Cs – ensuring our students evolve into critical, creative, committed, and curious learners, while collaborating compassionately both in and outside the classroom.”
Beyond teaching practice, the conference reminded teachers of the power of collaboration. Being part of the wider Nord Anglia Education network creates opportunities not just for students, but for educators too.
“Attending the SEAMEI conference reminded me that we’re part of something much bigger. Hearing from educators across the Nord Anglia family inspired me to think globally, share ideas more openly, and continue improving how we support every learner at BVIS Hanoi.”
The knowledge and strategies gained from the SEAMEI Teaching & Learning Conference 2025 will continue to enrich classroom practice and inspire innovation at BVIS Hanoi – ensuring students benefit from a truly global, future-focused education.
