The time had come for our BISS student athletes to showcase their talents in the 2025 Primary FOBISIA Friendly Games. Flagbearers, William Eagle Wang and Lucy Coffin, led us into the stadium under the scorching 34-degree weather with high humidity. Day 1 commenced with athletics and swimming.
BISS film students receive this unique opportunity with the top film producer after winning the Nord Anglia Global Campus Film Festival Competition. This competition involved 960 students from 22 Nord Anglia schools worldwide.
Earlier this year, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Orlando, Florida, to participate in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference (NLC) - an experience that challenged, inspired and rewarded me in unforgettable ways. From the Shanghai Regional Round to the Chengdu National Round, and finally, just a week ago, the Orlando Global Round, our BPA journey over the past six months has been unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.
The team set off to Chengdu to compete in the first NAE Multisports games since 2019. Twenty-one boys and girls, from Years 4 and 5 were looking forward to competing in a two-day tournament of athletics and football. For most of these students, this was their first sports tour and there was a great deal of excitement, sprinkled with a touch of nervousness.
As our Year 13 students prepare for IB exams, they continue to receive exciting university offers from around the world. New additions to our list include renowned institutions such as New York University (Shanghai and New York), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), and McGill University (Canada). Students applying to the United States have earned acceptances from respected universities like New York University, Tufts University, University of Southern California and University of California San Diego.
The British International School Shanghai, Puxi, is once again celebrating outstanding IBDP results. Graduates achieved an exceptional average score of 34.5 — well above the world average of 30.
