Admissions are now open for 2025/2026
As the year comes to a close, we hope you are all well and looking forward to reaching the end of what’s been a challenging, yet memorable academic year. The students have been incredibly resourceful and adaptive and we are sure you will agree, as have the staff at school.
With us already in the final weeks, we would like to share a small update on how we normally bring our school to a close from the parents’ perspective. While we have been unable to run our usual snack shops and second-hand uniform sales, allowing us to support student-led projects and other school initiatives. We have been able to, with the funds we accrued pre-pandemic, gift our Year 6 transition students with a keepsake mug in celebration of completing Primary School, and moving into Secondary School. The legacy hoodie that has grown to be anticipated by our Year 13 graduates was gifted this year in collaboration with school, allowing them to take a piece of BIS Abu Dhabi wherever their next adventure takes them.
We would like to show our appreciation to our own "Frontline workers” at school for their hard work and ‘above and beyond’ efforts once again, enabling our children to attend school safely. Therefore, using the parent funds we will offer a small token of appreciation to the Cleaning staff, Security team, Bus Drivers and of course the Fortune Properties maintenance team who have all worked diligently and with dedication, taking care of the BIS Abu Dhabi community.
If you are a Class Rep or purely a passionate parent, organising collections to say thank you in some way to your teachers, may we kindly ask you to be mindful of the TAs/SAs who are also working within your classes. This of course is a voluntary activity, done at each class/year groups discretion and we thank you for your participation.
Wishing you all a safe and healthy summer. Looking forward to the next academic year, hopefully with more parent-led activities within the school calendar. May we take this opportunity to also wish our graduates and any school leavers all the very best of everything in the future.

It’s something I’ve believed for a long time — that learning isn’t predetermined by our genes. It’s about growing, persevering, and learning through the process. I was really mindful of this idea at this week’s wonderful Primary Summer Concert, after which I found myself reflecting on whether these amazing children have an innate talent, or whether they have achieved so much because of hard work and practice.
I believe it’s the latter. These children, their parents, and their teachers all seem to share the belief that by trying and working hard, they will get better at what they do. This is what we call a growth mindset.
This week at BIS Abu Dhabi, we have had the joy of celebrating both ends of the school journey and it has been a beautiful reminder of how we support our students to dream big and grow into their future selves.
As exam season unfolds, there's a special kind of stillness that settles over the school. In the quiet hum of the examination hall, behind the rustle of papers and the soft clicking of keyboards, is a profound truth: we are witnessing a moment that our students will carry with them forever. It is the culmination of years of learning, growth, and perseverance, a chapter closing and a new one ready to be written.
