Becoming a STUCO Representative
What a fantastic year it’s been for our primary Student Council (STUCO)! Before the exciting events began, each STUCO member first had to earn their place on the council. Students began the year by completing an application form which thoughtfully outlined their strengths and reasons why they would make a positive contribution to the school community. They then stood in front of their class to give a short presentation about their ideas and explaining why they should be chosen as a representative. This selection process helped ensure that each member was committed, enthusiastic and ready to take on the responsibility of student leadership.

Leading with Caring Heart: This Year’s Highlights
One of the first highlights of the year was the organisation and facilitation of Spirit Week. As part of this week, STUCO students also organised a donation drive for PIO School, a local community school. Their efforts united our primary school community in enjoying a week full of fun and exciting activities whilst also working towards a shared goal of supporting the PIO school through donations. This week-long event allowed students to demonstrate a great deal of leadership and compassion. Thanks to their hard work, we collected a wide range of useful items that made a real difference to the PIO school.

Beyond Spirit Week, STUCO members played an active role in many school-wide events, including the Christmas Fair, Family Picnic Day, World Languages Day, STEAM Week and Book Week. They also took on important responsibilities as playground monitors in Early Learning, helping younger students feel safe and included.

Throughout the year, we’ve seen our STUCO students grow in confidence and maturity. They’ve become more comfortable sharing ideas, taking initiative, and working as a team. We’re incredibly proud of all they’ve accomplished.

Why Your Child Should Apply Next Year
If your child is interested in STUCO, we strongly encourage them to apply next year. Being part of the Student Council helps children build essential life skills that can benefit them in school and beyond. These skills include things such as public speaking, teamwork, responsibility and decision-making. It also gives students a platform to make real contributions to the school community and to grow as young leaders with a voice that matters.
