NAIS Pudong Scholarships
NAIS Pudong Communities
During the current academic year, we have been gradually transitioning from a House-based system to a Communities-based structure, designed to align more closely with the school’s aims and values—developing creative, confident, and considerate learners prepared for their futures.
Each term, students are grouped together to deepen their understanding of what it truly means to embody these values. Last week, all students and teachers formed Creative, Confident, and Considerate teams, collaborating across year groups on specific projects. Our eldest students actively supported and encouraged younger children, with guidance from staff members across the campus.
Creative Flower Power
Our Creative team embarked on acollaborative art project, producing multiple canvases painted and drawn by students.
Inspired by a "Flower Power" theme, they explored the impact of teamwork on large-scale projects while developing artistic skills and vocabulary. The quality of work was fantastic, and the individual pieces will soon be assembled into a larger mural for display.
Confident Oracy & Teamwork
The Confident team participated in apublic-speaking workshop focused on developing oracy skills and teamwork. After engaging in warm-up exercises in smaller groups to build confidence, studentsgradually progressed to more structured speaking tasks.
Senior students served as mentors, guiding younger peers as they refined their presentation abilities. The workshop concluded with students delivering short speeches and reflecting on their experiences.
Considerate Bird Nesting House
Meanwhile, the Considerate teamconstructed bird nesting boxes to be installed around campus, supporting localwildlife.
This hands-on project not only supported collaboration but also introduced students to key Design & Technology concepts. After assembling the boxes, students decorated them while maintaining an awareness of wildlife conservation.
Across all projects, fostering a sense of community and reinforcing our school values has been paramount. This work will continue throughout the remainder of the academic year as we finalise the transition to our new programme. By the start of the 2025/26 academic year, our Communities will be fully established, with each term bringing renewed energy and purpose to the values we hold dearest.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks and months!
