Uniform Philosophy
Our uniform brings students together, creating a sense of pride. It's practical and smart, and allows our students to learn and play in comfort all day.

General Requirements for All Students
- All uniforms will be designed for comfort while respecting modesty
- Uniforms will be made of quality, opaque fabrics
- School jumper (mandatory)
- School cap (mandatory)
- School book bag (optional)
- Sport kit bag
- Backpacks that are suitable for school
- Black footwear or trainers are permitted on any day
Early Years
- PE/activewear top and PE trousers
- No shorts will be permitted
- Any comfortable shoes are allowed
Primary
- Outerwear: A new fleece zip-up option will replace the current grey/teal jumper
- Tops: Formal short-sleeve or long-sleeve shirts are permitted for all students
- Bottoms:
- Boys: Long trousers or shorts that don't rise above the knees
- Girls: Long trousers, medium-length skirts with black stockings or long black socks, or long ankle-length skirts
- All students must wear black footwear
PE Uniform
- All students will wear PE/activewear trousers
- Boys: Long or short-sleeve PE shirts
- Girls: Long or short-sleeve PE shirts
Trainers are not allowed in school, unless they are part of the PE uniform.
Swimming Uniform
- Swimming cap
- Flip-flops

Note: Jewellery should not be worn on PE or swimming days due to health and safety.
Helpful Hint: Make sure all of your child's uniform and equipment is clearly labelled with their name. This keeps lost items to a minimum and saves confusion.
Secondary
- Tops:
- Boys: Short-sleeve or long-sleeve shirts
- Girls: Long-sleeve formal shirts only (Year 7 and above)
- Bottoms:
- Boys: Long trousers or shorts that don't rise above the knees
- Girls: Long trousers, mid-length skirts with black stockings or long black socks, or long ankle-length skirts
- Girls wearing med length skirts must wear non-transparent black socks unless wearing long ankle skirts
PE Uniform
- Boys: PE activewear shirt and long PE trousers
- Girls: Long PE trousers with either long-sleeve PE shirt or short-sleeve shirt with arm coverings
Compass PLUS - International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and A-Level
Our Year 12 and 13 students don't need to wear a school uniform. Instead, they're expected to dress in smart, business attire, which reflects their status as senior students and role models.
Changing for Athletics
- Primary students can wear their sports kit all day when they have PE lessons
- Students should bring a long sleeved t-shirt cover-up when walking between the changing room and the pool
- Changing rooms are located next to the swimming pool
Personal appearance

Jewellery should not be worn in school. However, we do allow students to wear a watch and stud earrings (earrings that sit flat on the ear lobe and do not dangle). To ensure health and safety, other jewellery or piercings are not permitted.

Jewellery should not be worn on PE or swimming days.

Students should not wear their hair in an extreme style. Long hair must be tied back during practical experiments and PE lessons.

Any children wearing nail varnish will be sent to the school nurse so it can be removed.
Other Guidelines
- Trolley-type bags are considered a health and safety hazard and should not be used in school.
- Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not appropriate for use during the school day.
Theme days
We run special theme days throughout the year. Below are some of the themes in case you'd like to prepare for them in advance.
- National Day.
- International Week (traditional dress or colours of your home country).
- Book Week (dress as your favourite book character).
- Eco Warriors Week (wear green).
- Pirate Week and Knights/Dragons/Kings and Queens Day (Early Years 2)
